It was a look Cher rocked at the first Met Gala back in 1974, and it was everything we’ve come to love in her look: Barely-there sparkle, plenty of flesh and more feathers than a dreamcatcher factory.
Forty years later, the Turn Back Time hitmaker has provided inspiration for Kim Kardashian’s Met Ball 2015 gown.
“She’s so beautiful!” Kardashian gushed on Instagram.
Kim, we tend to agree.

It was a night where Sarah Jessica Parker – true to form – went for a look few 50-something women would try, let alone pull off: wild headdress, thigh-flashing split, draped sleeves. It was a crazy interpretation of the ball’s theme, China: Through the Looking Glass, but SJP, we’ve got to hand it to you for keeping things interesting.

The Met Gala, or more formally known as the Costume Institute Gala, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.
The event marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. Previous themes have included Punk and National Identity.

Hat’s off (or on, as the case may be) to Sarah Jessica Parker, who takes the prize for wildest interpretation of this year’s theme China: Through The Looking Glass. And to Anne Hathaway – it takes a certain self-assuredness to pull off a a gold hoodie.
Anna Wintour … well, let’s just say this could be a rare fashion faux pas.
