When you’re two, there’s not much more exciting than a parade.
And for Prince George, the Queen’s birthday parade was pretty much the perfect recipe for Toddler Joy.
Here’s how his weekend played out:
The Queen’s birthday parade, known as Trooping the Colour, saw Prince Charles and his son William stride from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade, in bearskin hats, on horses.
The Duchess of Cambridge traveled in a carriage. It was her first official appearance since giving birth to Princess Charlotte last month.
While his parents were participating in a host of royal duties, Prince George watched from an upstairs palace window, Nanny holding him to the glass.
At the sight of wearing a bearskin hat, two-year-old George almost burst with excitement. And it was very cute.
There was a grand photo opportunity that saw the whole family pose on the steps of Buckingham Palace.
George points at all manner of things and entirely steals the show. But what really caught our attention was that he was wearing the same outfit Prince William did as a toddler when her first appearred on the Royal Balcony in 1984:
Princess Charlotte didn’t attend the festivities – but hopefully slept through them.
